Question:
Why do I have a whining noise coming out of my speakers?

Answer:
There are three types of noise that could cause this, thermal, induced, and ground loop. The most common of which is ground loop.

Usually, ground loop noise is engine speed related alternator whine, the more you rev up your engine the faster and higher pitch the whine becomes. There are several things that could be causing this and the following is a list of things you should check for:

• Make sure you ground all your components to the same ground post, yes I said post not self taping screw or trunk hinge. You need a good clean ground post that has bare metal and a solid connection to the chaise of the vehicle. Make sure all of your components go to the same ground including your radio. Factory grounds are fine for factory radios and factory sound.
• Run your signal cables and power cables on separate sides of the vehicle. And make sure to use high quality shielded RCA’s.
• Use a proper gauge power wire.
• Make sure to level match everything.
• If you are still having noise trouble you should call us and make an appointment for one of our technicians to diagnose the problem for you.
